Clinical Cardiac CT

This book is a concise textbook encompassing normal anatomy and pathology of the adult heart, along with an atlas of clinical cases.  It is designed to provide the clinician with  tools to perform and interpret high quality CT imaging of cardiac anatomy and function.  The initial chapters provide an entrée to cardiac CT imaging with in-depth descriptions of state-of-the-art CT technique, normal coronary anatomy and anatomical variations.  The central portion of the text provides a detailed discussion of coronary artery disease, calcium scoring, heart valves, cardiac morphology and cardiac function.  Supplementary topics include evaluation of bypass patients, coronary stents, EP planning and percutaneous cardiac interventions.  This text-atlas represents a joint effort among leading radiologists, echocardiographers, interventional cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to highlight the unique capabilities of CT for imaging of cardiac anatomy and function in real clinical applications.  A major focus of the text is to demonstrate how the anatomical and functional information obtained from CT evaluation of the heart are complementary. The CD included in the text provides the opportunity to appreciate the full ability of CT for three-dimensional display of cardiac anatomy and cine display of cardiac function.
